Knox’s current work combines his photography with historic imagery creating untold stories of historical fiction. Knox completed his MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2005. In 2018 he won the Louisiana Contemporary Best in Show at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. In 2019 he was awarded the Fine Art Photographer of the Year by the International Photography Awards and in 2021 was selected as a finalist in the Critical Mass Awards. In 2023 he received a bronze award in the Prix de la Photographie Paris. He teaches photography and is represented in Louisiana by Cole Pratt Gallery.
