About Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar was born in 1995 in Haryana, India. After completing BFA from College of Art, New Delhi in 2017 and MFA from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2019, he has been practicing photography in rural India.
Deepak has been recognized as a Young Artist Scholar by the government of India in the year 2018. He has also exhibited his work in India’s biggest photo festival in Hyderabad organized by Light Craft Foundation 2020 and many other online platforms. Recently, his work has been selected as one of the winners in the Black and White Photography Awards 2020 by LensCulture.
He is mainly a street and documentary photographer. Other subjects include the daily life of the rural surroundings of his native land, folk and culture, social issues as well as the relation and twist between natural and unnatural occurrences. His photography represents a very deep understanding of the situation and shows a unique sense of a moment of very ordinary places.
