In their long-term work »Simili Modo« (SUI, LUX, GER | 2017-2020), Daniel Niedermeier and Jan A. Staiger explore necessities, longings and dreams of modern societies by visually approaching the phenomenon of illusory worlds.
»Simili Modo« has been exhibited at the Photokina Cologne in 2018, the 2019 Visa Pour l'Image OFF Festival Perpignan, the 2019 Chobi Mela Festival in Dhaka, the RAW Phototriennale Worpswede and the 2020 Lumix Festival for Young Visual Journalism in Hannover. It has also been published in several magazines, such as HANT Magazine and Science Notes Magazine.
Jan A. Staiger is a documentary photographer based in Hanover, GER and Ghent, BEL.
In 2016 he started stuyding photojournalism and documentary photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hanover. Aside from editorial assignments, his work’s focus lies mainly between the poles of politics and society within Germany.
In 2018/19 Jan A. Staiger worked as a photographer for Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich.
His work has been published in newspapers and magazines, such as DIE ZEIT, Süddeutsche Zeitung and der Freitag.
In 2019 he received the Bavarian Press Photography Award.
Daniel Niedermeier was born in Freiburg/GER in 1993. After serving an apprenticeship as an offset printer and professional experience within this occupation, he decided to focus on his dedication of photography and storytelling. Since summer 2016 he has been studying photojournalism & documentary photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover/GER.
He is primarily interested in long term projects concerning scientific and economic approaches as well as structural phenomena of society. Localities, rooms and places are recurring elements within his work. He is currently based in Hannover/GER.
