About Juan Brenner

Born in Guatemala, 1977
Photographer and independent art director, lives and works in Guatemala City.
For more than a decade he lives in New York where he works as a fashion pho-tographer, his images have been published in international magazines such as Nylon, Style and the Family Tunes, People, Oyster, L’Uomo Vogue, BON, and Anthem among others.
He is a founding member of Proyectos Ultravioleta in Guatemala City.
In July 2017 his project MACÚ (in collab-oration with Byron Mármol) is curated in the book CLAP, 15 years of the best books of Latin American photography published by 10X10 Books in New York.
His first monograph “Tonatiuh” was nomi-nated to Aperture’s “First Book Award” in September 2019, with the same project he was one of the winners of the Lens Culture´s 2019 “Emerging Talent Award”.
