Kantaya is a self-taught, aspiring photo-artist who brings a unique perspective and flavor to her work, influenced by her experiences living in cities such as Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore. Her art is inspired by both historical and contemporary masters, including Johannes Vermeer, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Robert Doisneau, etc.
Kantaya's journey as an artist is marked by a continual quest for new perspectives and deeper understanding of the world around her. Through her lens, she captures moments that are often overlooked, presenting them in a way that resonates with the audience. Her work not only reflects her personal experiences but also invites viewers to see the beauty in the mundane, the depth in simplicity, and to appreciate Life for what it is. This to her, is the Art of Life, and also what she seeks to convey through her photos.
Kantaya picked up her first major award in 2022 when she was shortlisted at Sony World Photography Award and was also 1 of 11 shortlisted for Alpha Female Award. Most recently, she was 1 of 48 artists who were selected for 2023 Lensculture Critic Choice Award.
