Karine Roué was born in France in 1975. In the South Pacific where Karine Roué lives, she henceforth devotes herself to writing and photography, intensely reflecting and meditating upon her art, upon temporality and psychic places. Art comes first and foremost in its essentially ontological question. Woman is also conspicuous there at every second. It is in her interest in the First Arts and cockfighting that she links up to the archaic and unspeakable part of herself, a dimension that she endlessly strives to actualize within the field of the contemporary. In her universe, each element shapes up to the others, provides strong meaning to the whole by weaving a web that contains everything whilst leaving her free to assume her discontinuities. What is at stake in every word and every photograph plays itself again in the whole and assumes the shape of a brilliant choir, a coherent polyphonic ensemble, a proto-writing.
