Stillness is the center of Lenghi’s work. The calm atmosphere in her images evokes a sense of serenity, as if time stands still.
Our mind is too busy. Constantly jumping from one thing to another. Viewing our world through lenses colored by judgement, preference, the past, future, or comparison, stops us being present in the moment.
With her work, viewers are invited to slow their pace, to breathe and to experience an emotional time for themselves. Silence and time that we need, to contemplate and rethink the true values in life.
Her images, self-reflections of her inner emotions, are inspired by the Japanese philosophy Wabi Sabi. The Wabi Sabi philosophy is connected to the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence specifically impermanence, suffering and emptiness of absence of self-nature.
