Marilyne Grimmer is a French visual artist living in Brussels, Belgium. She alternates between personal projects as a photographer, participatory projects with diverse audiences, collaboration as a scenographer for theatre companies, installations and performances with the Repondeur automatik collective.
The construction of mental and physical space and the issues of participation, collaboration and accessibility to all audiences have an important place in her work.
"Postcards from elsewhere" is an ongoing photographic project where Marilyne Grimmer usually meets people in the streets of Brussels, Paris, Tokyo, or Ouidah, teleports them to the place of their dreams and send them a postcards as a souvenir of their imaginary trip.
Since the first Lockdown she has adapted her project into a home version called «Bons baisers de…» (Love from…) and worked with elderly people.
In 2020 she was the winner of the OPEN///CONTEMPORARY [URBAN] CREATION 2020 and will go on developping her project during 5 festivals in Italy next summer 2021 as well as during the festival Les tombées de la nuit in Rennes, France.
