Mony Nation is an award winning, published photographer, writer, and designer who seeks to center Black lives, stories, and communities foremost as well as individuals from other ethnic backgrounds.
Having traveled the world to more than 30 countries, she draws a great deal of inspiration from the new environments. She served as a co-editor for The MelaninLens Magazine as well as a contributing travel writer and photographer for MITH magazine. She is no stranger to the world of fashion. Mony has worked as a guest director, videographer, and photographer for the Berlin-based fashion vlog, Suit Yourself with Paige. In 2020, she released a colorful graphic fashion collaboration with eponymous label Sherie L. Nevett, a fashion house based in Los Angeles.
Mony’s photographic works have been exhibited across the United States at venues that include Venn.Bushwick, the Long Island Photo Gallery, Montgomery Photo Festival, Troy University’s Huo Bao Zhu Gallery, NomadWorks and currently at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
In 2022, Mony was invited by Alchemical Studios x Black Women’s March to screen her short video, Discovering Deloach: Filling the Genealogy Gaps. Mony’s image “Hey” was IPA, International Photography Awards: Color, Official Selection and Jury Top 5 selection. She was named a 2022 LensCulture Critics Choice Award winner and placed 3rd in the fashion/editorial category for Budapest International Foto Awards.
