About Olivier Léger

To photograph, always, I go elsewhere. The places never seen before awaken my eye, offer me the promise that maybe something will happen. What interests me then is to take a picture of the "moment before". I photograph moments of promise, tension or fragility that are usually not noticed, and which reveal a mysterious and dreamlike world.

I am sensitive to the cinematic poetry of Wong Kar Wai, to the exaltation of Jack Kerouack's writing, to shadow theater, and to the impermanence of all things, which I realized early on with the loss of my mother, at an age where time normally has no limit.

Today, I want to develop my work over longer temporalities, by bringing together several trips, several images in one place, like a poetic, meditative and melancholic road trip.
