About Rebecca Hackemann

Rebecca Hackemann grew up in Bavaria Germany, spent a short time in a British Boarding School (where she got a key to the darkroom) until going to Art School in England. Schooled by Laura Mulvey and Victor Burgin, she holds a PhD from Chelsea College of Art (2019), an MFA from Stanford University in CA . She lived in New York City for 11 years where she was a Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program Fellow. Hackemann is now based in Kansas City and London.
In 2021 these works will be shown at "Museum für Photographie" in a major survey exhibition of American photographic artists. Her exhibition records is extensive and begins in 1996. Hackemann works in a variety of media t
