Shaohan Fang, born and raised in Fujian, China, came to the U.S. to pursue her second master degree in art at School of Visual Arts in 2023. Prior to her study in the U.S., she studied at the Communication University of China and received a master's degree in engineering and a double degree in photography.
Her works primarily use images and installations as the main medium, exploring the predicaments and experiences of women in contemporary society from a feminist perspective. She believes that images are free to express different viewpoints and emotions through various perspectives and techniques.
