About Young June Kim

After being graduated at Hong-Ik University, Seoul (specialty sculpture), I studied at the School of Fine Arts in Rennes, in France in 2006, under the supervision of Tom Drahos, Marcel Dinahet, and passed the National Diploma in Plastic Art. I enrolled in the Bachelor of Photography at the University of Paris 8 and in 2015 passed the diploma of Master 2 specialty ''photography and contemporary art'' with the speciality of "A photographic aesthetics of sculpture” under the supervision of Michelle Debat and Arno Gisinger.

I was one of the laureas of “MH Talent Portfolio (Korean Emerging Artist), "2024/2025”, Museum Hanmi, formerly known as the Museum of Photography, Seoul (MoPS) in 2023.
I was shortlisted for LensCulture Black & White Photography Awards 2023 (category: single photo).

My work was shown at the Nancy Biennial photography « L’Évènement Photographique » in 2021.

In 2016, I was also one of the eleven shortlists selected by Diane Dufour, director of the BAL in Paris, for the HSBC Prize, and shortlist for the Bourse du Talent #68 “Espace, Paysage, Architecture”.

My work is part of Madeleine Millot-Durrenberger's collection.
