Zachary P. Stephens is an award-winning and internationally exhibited photographer and educator in southern Vermont. Working as a photojournalist for over two decades, he has contributed to newspapers and magazines throughout New England while also serving as the Photo Editor of the Brattleboro Reformer from 2007 to 2013. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and USA Today, and also in galleries located in the UK, Germany, California, Virginia, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
He holds an MFA in Visual Art from the Vermont College of Fine Art and a certificate of Professional Photography from the Hallmark Institute of Photography.
Currently, he teaches at The Putney School in Putney, VT., while maintaining a personal and freelance practice.
In 2017 he earned an MFA in Visual Art from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. His thesis project titled Are We There Yet? is an ongoing series of large-scale photographs exploring modern fatherhood.
